The San Francisco Deputy Sheriffs’ Association (SFDSA) is proud to announce our endorsement of Michael Lai as our #1 choice for District 11 Supervisor. After thorough evaluation of his track record, dedication to public safety, and commitment to addressing the real issues facing San Francisco, particularly District 11, we believe Michael Lai is the candidate who will deliver meaningful results for the community.

Michael Lai has made public safety his top priority, recognizing it as the cornerstone of a thriving community. His plan to recruit a fully staffed police department, reduce administrative burdens, and root out corruption will ensure that San Francisco becomes safer for everyone. He’s also committed to taking bold action against open-air drug markets and fentanyl dealers, while addressing organized crime behind retail thefts and car break-ins.

In addition to safety, Michael understands the need for more affordable housing, especially in a growing city like San Francisco. His plan includes building more housing, upzoning along transit corridors, and creating pathways to help individuals overcome addiction and homelessness. By working to change conservatorship laws and increase shelter bed capacity, Michael is focused on solutions that address root causes and improve quality of life.

Michael also prioritizes education by supporting great schools from pre-K to 12th grade. His plans to bring back 8th-grade algebra and implement the science of reading will ensure that San Francisco’s students are equipped for future success.

Moreover, Michael has a vision to revitalize downtown San Francisco by rezoning areas from commercial to residential, incentivizing artists and shops, and even adding a university or healthcare campus. His focus on streamlining regulations will help empower small businesses, making it easier for them to thrive.
