Leanna has been a proud resident of San Francisco since 1979, attending public schools within the SFUSD system. Her connection to City College of San Francisco (CCSF) is profound and multi-generational, with her father serving as a Culinary Arts Instructor at CCSF and her child currently enrolled at the college. This deep-rooted connection to the community and the college makes her an ideal candidate to tackle the pressing issues facing CCSF today.

Service and Leadership

Leanna’s impressive 11-year service in the US Army, both enlisted and as an officer, equipped her with unparalleled leadership and organizational skills. Her tenure as an Administrative Analyst for the Sacramento Fire Department saw her successfully increase revenue from $9 million to $15 million by auditing and billing insurance companies and law offices for services rendered by the Emergency Medical Services Division. These experiences highlight her capability to navigate complex systems and drive impactful change.

Campaign Success and Community Support

Leanna’s campaign has already garnered significant support. Within the first 12 days of collecting signatures to qualify for the ballot, she amassed over 400 signatures. Her grassroots approach and dedication to connecting with voters have led to widespread backing from various community leaders and organizations, including CA State Treasurer Fiona Ma, President of APAPA Chris Do, and President of the Asian Firefighter’s Association Stan Lee.

Commitment to Public Safety

Public safety is a cornerstone of Leanna’s campaign. As the founder of the United Peace Collaborative, a volunteer citizens patrol and graffiti removal group in SF Chinatown, Leanna has actively contributed to making the community safer.

A Vision for Justice and Equality

Leanna is a steadfast advocate for justice and equality. Her military service, coupled with her professional and personal experiences, has fueled her commitment to serving all community members fairly. As a Democrat, she believes in hard work, service, fiscal responsibility, and collaboration across all demographics. Her focus on improving public safety, supporting comprehensive rehabilitation programs for inmates, and ensuring equitable justice aligns closely with the values of the SFDSA PAC.
